This is normal. When the fabric is subjected to friction, pressure, or bending, the coating gets rubbed around. This phenomenon, which can result in grey shading, is a common characteristic of Sunbrella Marine fabric. It is not an indication of a defect or damage but rather a normal response to use. The fabric is dyed throughout, so these changes are superficial.
